The 11th annual Festival of Independent Theatres (FIT) opens up Friday the 17th at the Bath House Cultural Center. The four week festival hopes to promote awareness of Dallas-area theater and expose people to new or avant-garde works. The fun starts on Friday at 8:00 p.m. with two one-act shows, Seagulls and The Old Woman in the Wood.
Tickets for the first show Friday cost $16, though if you go to a matinee showing another day, or anytime Wednesday or Thursday you can get in for $12. Two and four week passes cost $49 and $69 respectively.
The festival features plays from eight different theatre companies, and a complete schedule can be found here, on the FIT website.
