Woodrow’s new choir director, Kent Ellingson, comes to the school from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing Arts, where he once taught now-famous DISD grad Norah Jones. Ellingson, who replaces Sean Morrison at Woodrow and joins John Beaird as the two people responsible for the school’s annual musical. also is considered a music theory expert and will be teaching a class with that theme this fall. Among Ellingson’s jobs will be directing Woodrow’s Variations and Counterpoint show choirs.
