Two friends, Rev. George Mason, senior pastor of Wilshire Baptist Church, and Rabbi David Stern, senior rabbi at Temple Emanu-El, gave us the lowdown back in 2010 on the differences between the mother-daughter religions.

And it’s even a little more complicated than that, so of course we had to ask: How did Stern and Mason — a Jewish rabbi and a Baptist preacher — come to be good friends?

They don’t try to proselytize each other, they told us back in 2o10.
