There is no shortage of golf courses in East Dallas. Between the historic Lakewood Country Club and the more accessible Tennison Memorial, it isn’t hard to hit the links. Though it can be tough to imagine, there used to be another golf course in the heart of our neighborhood.

If you have ever shot down Abrams, you may have seen a peculiar name for a street, called Bob-O-Link. This is not named after a guy named Bob who loved to smoke sausage as you may think, but is actually the location of a former 9-hole golf course on 60 acres owned by the McCommas family, which is a name you will probably recognize.

The course stretched from Bob-O-Link Drive to Sondra Drive, and had a water hazard, driving range, and more before it was developed into houses in 1973. Read the story here for a walk down memory lane.
