Is there a service organization or social club cooler or more fun than the Exchange Club of Lake Highlands? Their biggest fundraiser is Oktoberfest Dallas, a community-wide, all-day bash and live music venue which finds a way to be both raucous and family-friendly. Now they’re hosting Jackopierce at their annual spring benefit concert and auction. If you thought Exchangites were just a bunch of do-gooders raising money for college scholarships and child abuse prevention, think again.
(By the way, they do that, too — in spades.)
Jackopierce is an alternative rock band formed in 1988 by Jack O’Neill and Cary Pierce while they were studying at SMU. The name of the band is a mashup of their names, and they feature acoustic guitars and vocal harmonies. Over the years, Jackopierce has shared the stage with Sheryl Crow, Alanis Morissette, Dave Matthews Band and other world-class artists. They’ll bring their full band for the Exchange Club show.
The live auction will feature vacation destinations from Cedar Creek to Argentina and include dining experiences such as the new Goodwin’s on lower Greenville and LH’s beloved Resident Taqueria. The silent auction features golf outings, dinner out and more. You may bid on items here.
The Exchange Club of Lake Highlands Spring Benefit Concert and Auction will be held Friday, April 4 at the Granada Theater. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the party is open to the public. Tickets are $45 each, premium packages for two are $160 and tickets may be purchased online here.
