One thing that isn’t canceled in 2020 is Electric Lizzyland. After a hiatus in 2019, neighbor Liz Simmons is bringing back her impressive holiday yard art display.

Drive down Newell Avenue this December to see Simmons’ high-wattage work. You can’t miss it. The street is aglow with 100,000 lights, plus a papier-maché Abominable Snowman, a sparkly 8-foot sleigh, glitter dioramas and taxidermied rat scenes.

She hopes to have the display ready for viewing by Dec. 12. It will stay up until at least Christmas.

Decorating a home to rival Clark Griswold’s from the “Christmas Vacation” movie takes time, and Simmons took a break in 2019 to go all-out for other holidays and start planning for 2020.

“I decorate for Halloween and Christmas and then organize an Easter parade,” Simmons said. “It was six months of my life every year, and it never gets smaller. I want it to keep getting bigger and better. I’ve got to have time to create what I want to create.”
