Parking lanes and other safety improvements will be added to Easton Road as the City of Dallas begins work on several pavement striping projects, District 9 Councilwoman Paula Blackmon said.

The Dallas City Council approved a three-year service price agreement with Elite Striping, LLC for reflective lane striping. The estimated cost is more than $15 million, paid from the general fund. The approval allows the Department of Transportation to work with the contractor on pavement striping projects around the city.

One of the projects is the restriping of Easton Road. By adding parking lanes and better-delineated lane lines, officials hope to make the road safer for motorists.

The Department of Transportation expects work to begin in a few weeks.

“Our office is grateful to the transportation department and the community for collaborating and coming together to help make these needed safety changes,” Blackmon said on Dallas City Council District 9 Facebook page.
