During the hustle and bustle of the work week, some things get lost in the shuffle. Here’s a roundup of some interesting items we mined from the interwebs that you might’ve missed:
- Check out these cuties (pictured above) from Robert E. Lee Elementary who hit up Jerry’s Dogs on Gaston last Wednesday. They rallied to support the Woodrow Foundation and Friends of Robert E. Lee Elementary. Jerry’s donated 10 percent of their sales from the event to Lee for the Literacy Library.
- Neighbor Gina Miller, a long-time CBS-Ch. 11 sports anchor, is stepping out of the sportscasting spotlight, the Dallas Morning News reports. At least, for now. She broke the news via Facebook, saying: “I am moving on to pursue new entrepreneurial projects that I will share with you in the near future. I hope to return to a TV near you soon. Until then, please keep in touch.” We wrote about Miller in 2009.
- The Dallas Independent School District is hosting a Teacher Job Fair on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 8 a.m.-noon. The event is by invitation only, so apply asap. To receive an invitation, apply at www.dallasisd.org/careers by Tuesday, Oct. 22.
