Since 2008, Hound Haven has been saving and rehoming hundreds of dogs from local shelters and the streets. Until last year, it was foster based. The dogs that Hound Haven takes in are “on the code red lists,” according to the Hound Haven Facebook page. Although the dogs aren’t immediately able to go to foster homes or boarding, Hound Haven finds a solution for them and gives them training until they are able to find a home.

The organization has outgrown its shop on the edge of East Dallas at 4101 Worth, so Fox is “now looking into acquiring a new boarding facility that can save up to 75 dogs,” according to the Go Fund Me page, which was started by Ankita Patel on March 28. The new facility is also in East Dallas, and the page says Hound Haven needs to raise $15,000, and so far it has raised a little more than $3,000.
