Once upon a time store owners created websites to represent their shops in the digital world, and social media served as an avenue to market their boutiques and bring customers through the door.

Lakewood neighbor Amanda Weed did things a little differently. Instead of building a storefront first and a website second, Weed flipped things around.

Her children’s clothing boutique, The Little Things, operated as an online-only storefront for years, and it was successful enough that she’s now opening a physical storefront.

The store is hosting a grand opening this weekend at 5207 Bonita in East Dallas. It kicked off on Thursday and continues through Saturday.

Today and tomorrow, The Little Things is offering 20 percent off all its products. Through today guests will receive a free children’s book with the purchase of $50 or more. If you get there soon, you might even get a cupcake. Tomorrow F is For Frank will be in store taking orders for its Prints for Love product line from 1-4 p.m.

Or if you want to support local without leaving your living room, you can always shop the website.
