There’s still a lot of work to be done, but Lincoln hopes to be finished with construction this summer so tenants like Fresh Market can open in the fall. For more background, check out these pictures of the demolition.

So far, we know of five secured tenant for the new shopping center.

Lincoln Property Co. met with neighbors in 2012 to talk about its plans to demolish and reconstruct the shopping center at Gaston-Garland-Grand. At the time, Lincoln said they were negotiating a lease with Starbucks for a building in the southwest corner.

A couple of weeks ago, Digg’s Taco Shop signed on with Lincoln, and owner Joey Milan says Digg’s will be roomies with Starbucks in a building that will be built near the corner of Gaston and Garland. Starbucks will get about 1,800 square feet of the building, and Digg’s will get about 2,200 square feet, Milan says.

And of course, we can expect The Fresh Market to anchor the center, Ace Hardware to transplant from its current location in Lakewood Shopping Center, and Luke’s Locker to receive a large stand-alone building at the center of the shopping center.
