An officer shot a rottweiler, and the other dogs, a doberman and a pit bull, escaped, police said. ABC affiliate WFAA reported that one of the dogs was injured, and the other was later caught.

The victims were taken to Baylor University Medical Center in serious condition, authorities said. They remained in the hospital Sunday in fair condition, according to WFAA.

The dog owner told the station his pets escaped from the backyard by jumping the fence or digging a hole.

Charges are pending.
