October was National Bullying Prevention Month

Happy fall, District 2! The leaves are crisp, and the air is cool. The holiday season is in full swing! Lakewood Elementary and Geneva Heights came together to host a Fall Festival that included carnival rides, games, and a silent auction. It is such a blessing to be able to be together again. The Exchange Club of East Dallas held its 8th annual golf tournament and afterparty to support Woodrow Wilson High School students. We are so grateful for their efforts. Mockingbird Elementary hosted its fall carnival in hopes of raising money. The event was full of rides, games, booths, and food trucks. We are thrilled to see many DISD families joining us for various events.

Discover Dallas ISD

Dallas ISD offers more school choice options than any other school or district in the city. We are proud to have showcased these schools and opportunities at Discover Dallas ISD. The types of schools at the event included: early learning opportunities, single-gender schools, STEM/STEAM schools, Montessori schools, dual language programs, visual and performing arts schools, P-TECH, transformation schools, personalized learning schools, talented and gifted schools, career institutes, and project-based learning schools. All of these schools are available to Dallas ISD students free of charge. National Bullying Prevention Month

Dallas ISD wants everyone to know what bullying is and how students, parents, teachers and staff can create positive change and emphasize respect and inclusion across the district. October was National Bullying Prevention Month, and we learned how to help prevent and respond to acts of bullying, intimidation, violence and other disruptive behavior to keep our communities safe. Reports of bullying should be made as soon as possible after the alleged act or knowledge of the alleged act. If your student believes that they have experienced bullying or another student has experienced bullying, encourage them to immediately report the alleged acts to a teacher, counselor, principal, or anonymously at www.dallasisd.org/saysomething.
