The Dallas school district’s board of trustees is expected to discuss its plan to close 11 schools during a briefing this Thursday, Jan. 12. After that, the school district will announce meetings to detail the plan for neighbors.

The board also will see an overview of the 2012-2013 budget Thursday. The presentation is available for download here. The budget shows the school district expects a shortfall of nearly $24.7 million because of state funding cuts. Closing 11 schools, including Bonham and Fannin elementary schools, is expected to save $11.5 million.
