Diggs Taco Shop

It took a while for construction to begin on Digg’s Tacos at Gaston-Garland-Grand, even though it was among one of the first to tell us it would be opening a location in the new Arboretum Village shopping center. Owner Joey Milan originally hoped to open in the fall in its spot next to the Starbucks. Now, more than a year after the original announcement, it is finally open.

The new location has a patio that features wooden picnic-syles tables, shade umbrellas and a string of lights. Inside, the dining area features a lot of reclaimed wood, which is nicely complemented by dangling bulb lights.

The Digg’s brand is a “hip, laid-back taqueria” that’s proud of its “loud taste,” Milan says. Aside from quality ingredients and cooking methods, mood and atmosphere is also a key part of the Digg’s experience. Namely, music.

Diggs Taco Shop“It’s a part of our DNA,” Milan told us more than a year ago. “I’ve worked with sound systems for years, and I want it to be a part of this brand.”

That’s why the new location is teched-up with quality sound systems that churn out a constant stream of acoustic tunes.

This is Milan’s third Digg’s location. He originally founded Digg’s near SMU, right across Central from East Dallas. He then opened an Arlington location, but it closed and Milan resurrected it in Southlake.
