One loyal customer loved Lakewood’s 1st and 10 so much that his wake was held right there in the restaurant. Now that’s saying something. And there’s a lot to love about this neighborhood sports tavern with its retro bar, dark wood paneling and old-time country tunes resonating from the jukebox. Most notably, it’s a great place to watch the game and meet other knowledgeable sports fans. Flat screen TVs hang along the walls, and each can broadcast a different game. The restaurant/bar has been open for about 16 months now, and almost everything on the menu is made in-house, including the famous Point Burger, hot wings, and ribs that spend six hours in the smoker and fall right off the bone. “We spare no expense on quality,” owner Mark Hajdu says. The bar’s clientele includes everyone from college kids to families. “The bartender knows who you are and what you’re drinking when you walk in.”
