Jordan August, who lives on Swiss Avenue, and his brother, Evan, have spent the past year redeveloping the Continental Gin Company building through their real estate development firm, August Real Estate Co.

Built in 1888, the Continental Gin building has been converted into office space. Now, the brothers are eyeing their second project, the former Trunk Club at 333 First Ave.

The three-story building, built in 1926, offers more than 36,000 square feet of space, 16-foot ceilings and large windows. Improvements will include exterior building upgrades, an Uber-friendly drop-off zone, upgraded landscaping and a brick and glass circulation tower that will house a new elevator and stairwell.

“Our diversified experience gives us a unique perspective on what potential tenants are looking for in a commercial space — flexible leasing and workplace configurations that are not only safe and clean, but also positively impact an employee’s well being,” Jordan August said in a statement.

The project will be completed shortly after the August brothers finish restoring the Continental Gin building. August Real Estate repurposed the large freight elevator into an internal stairwell, replaced dock doors with glass windows and created large conference rooms and patio areas. The 2-acre site is located across from the Santa Fe Trail, and there are showers on every floor for people who may jog or bike to work.

Co-working firm Common Desk has leased 22,000 square feet of space, and Fiction Coffee will operate in the main lobby.

The Continental Gin building is set for completion in the first quarter of 2021, and 333 First Ave. is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2021.

All August Real Estate Co. developments will feature upgraded health and safety measures, including hospital-grade air filtration, UV light systems, touchless fixtures in restrooms and antimicrobial surfaces.
