The 22nd annual VideoFest starts Thursday at the Angelika at Mockingbird Station. The festival includes 150 unusual, underground or independent video and film projects from local artists, as well as from around the world.

Here’s how the media release describes some of the work: "A curated look at YouTube, a feature about the man behind the Texas Rangers’ dot race, Romanians becoming Israelis, a retrospective and appearance from The Art Guys, a documentary about drug companies racing to create a female orgasm pill, the tale of how the American financial system went awry, a history of Jews in Dallas, computer animation compilations from Siggraph and local high schools and colleges, museum commissioned film criticism reported via film, the heckled actor Jamie Kennedy heckles back, the gospel of not-spending, and much more."
