The DMN is reporting that 39-year-old neighborhood lawyer Damien Falgoust was discovered severely beaten about 2 a.m. Wednesday at 1914 Lower Greenville near Ross (in front of The Crown and Harp; note that the Google street view shot was taken during last year’s renovation of Lower Greenville).

According to the report, it appears that Falgoust may have called 911 after the beating, and he was taken to Baylor Hospital, where he was placed in a medically induced coma due to skull and brain trauma. The Dallas Observer also has a brief report on the incident.

Falgoust lives several blocks from the site of the crime; he had been at the Knox Street Pub earlier that evening with his kickball team, the DMN says. His sister, Ashley, speculated that he may have asked the taxi that picked him up at Knox Street Pub to drop him off at Greenville and Ross to pick up some pizza, and then he planned to walk home.

Falgoust is a 1999 grad of UT’s law school and a 1995 Baylor alum, the DMN report says.

Police say his wallet and personal items were with Falgoust, so they don’t believe robbery was the motive behind the attack. If you know anything that could help find the assailant(s), call Dallas police detective Singer at 214-671-3603.
