In 2014 the agency, which is located in East Dallas, served more than 4,000 children and their non-offending family members who have been sexually abused, severely physically abused, or who have witnessed a violent crime.

Kozmetsky has been a part of the center’s leadership for several years, and she says she’s excited about the growth opportunities within DCAC’s Research Institute.

“In January 2015 the Institute launched a multi-site study involving child advocacy centers across the nation,” she explains. “The research team will begin to explore family engagement, the assessment and influence of support from non-offending parents, and motivational interviewing to enhance both engagement and support.”
