On Feb. 15, they’ll hang handmade scarves and hats on tree limbs around low-income neighborhoods in our area, free to passersby. The idea came from a similar knitting group, Chase the Chill in Pennsylvania.

You can help by donating your own knitted or crocheted items to the cause. The Lakewood Branch Library is accepting donations through Saturday.

If you want volunteer with the Dallas Yarn Bombers and help install the free scarves and hats on Sunday, contact the group on Facebook.
