Construction on Dallas Fire-Rescue Station No. 19 is expected to begin this month.
The news came in a memorandum presented to the Dallas City Council Public Safety Committee.
The City Council approved a construction award for a replacement fire station, located at 5600 E. Grand Ave., on Nov. 10, 2021.
The construction management office is finalizing plans and expects to have a permit within the next two weeks. This will allow the construction to begin this month, and the whole project should be finished by February 2023.
Station No. 19 is one of many being rebuilt across our city. It was damaged during storms in 2019, while the building was undergoing repairs.
