Compass Real Estate will open its offices Monday in the building at 6220 Gaston Ave. The company’s 100 agents and their team members will occupy the first three floors of the seven-story tower.

“The opening of our permanent office in the heart of Lakewood is an acknowledgment of just how special the tight-knit East Dallas community is to Compass and our family of agents who call the neighborhood home,” Lakewood sales manager Jared Fleischer said. “We are delighted to have found our home in a building so important to the history of Lakewood and look forward to contributing positively to the community.”

Gaston Tower, formerly known as Faulkner Tower, was constructed in 1967, and its primary tenant was Oak Cliff Savings and Loan.

Carl Anderson, co-founder of commercial real estate developer Larkspur Capital, closed on the property in July 2019. Larkspur Capital renovated the building with new electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems. The HVAC system circulates fresh air through separately filtered air handlers across each floor to ensure no floors share the same air. Additionally, UV fans were installed in the elevators, and they constantly circulate, purify and sanitize new air in the cabs.

The facade was remodeled with new windows, a fresh coat of white paint and a Compass logo at the top of the tower. The lawn features a Christmas tree that neighbors are encouraged to take pictures with during the holidays.

“We’re excited to welcome Compass at Gaston Tower,” Anderson said. “It’s been exciting to execute our vision of delivering new, clean and bright office space to Lakewood for the first time in decades. The tower’s open floor plans, high ceilings, expansive windows and unobstructed views make for an energetic and collaborative work space.”
