Colossal BioSciences and Cost Plus Drugs both made the cut for the Disruptors category of the list. They’re featured alongside 17 other companies in the same category.

Ben Lamm is the co-founder of Colossal alongside scientist George Church. The company, which has an office inside Deep Ellum’s Continental Gin Building, aims to work on the de-extinction of the wooly mammoth through genetic engineering. The company, which started in 2021, combines the genes of the Asian elephant with DNA samples from mammoth remains.

Cost Plus Drugs, owned by Mark Cuban, was founded as a low-cost online pharmacy in 2022. The company cuts out “the middleman” by negotiating directly with medication manufacturers.

Other categories on the list included Leaders, Innovators, Titans and Pioneers.
