The Dallas Police Department is asking for information about the 2005 murder of an East Dallas resident.
Gail Delay was found dead in her home in the 6000 block of Danbury Lane, near Skillman Street and Lovers Lane, on July 24, 2005, according to police.
A preliminary investigation determined that the 49-year-old woman died from blunt force trauma and multiple stab wounds.
Delay was last seen alive by friends, according to police.
The Dallas Morning News published a story about Delay 10 years after her death. She was a longtime volunteer at a local SPCA. When she didn’t show up for a low-cost vaccination clinic on July 23, friends realized something might have been wrong.
A friend drove by Delay’s condo, where she lived alone, the next day and found the front door open and a crime scene inside, the Morning News reported.
