The closure of the Santa Fe Trail pedestrian bridge that crosses over Garland Road has been delayed.
The Texas Department of Transportation announced the update in a news release April 4.
According to the release, the temporary closure has been pushed back “until further notice while crews make additional revisions to the detour route. A new schedule will be shared as it is finalized.”
We have reached out to TXDoT for more information, and we will update this story when we hear back.
The bridge was supposed to be temporarily closed until late summer to allow construction workers to widen the Garland Road lanes under it.
Here’s the original detour route; the new one has not yet been released.
This is all part of the $6.3 million project to rework the Gaston-Garland-Grand intersection, which is scheduled to be complete in spring 2023.
