Almost 1,500 guests honored Ed Leyden, the president of Bishop Lynch High School in East Dallas, during The Catholic Foundation’s 33rd Annual Award Dinner at the Hilton Anatole earlier this month on Feb. 6.
Leyden received the Catholic Foundation Award for “his leadership role and positive impact on the Catholic education community,” according to an email from Bishop Lynch. The Catholic Foundation also presented a grant to Bishop Lynch High School, designated to The Ed and Barbara Leyden Scholarship Fund in Leyden’s honor.
“Ed Leyden is a pillar in our Catholic community, both in his work in education and as a deacon,” explains Matt Kramer, the president and CEO of The Catholic Foundation. “His devotion to his Catholic faith and his outreach is immeasurable, and we are delighted he is our 33rd Catholic Foundation award recipient.”
The Foundation’s annual dinner is held to honor Catholic philanthropy and to bring the Catholic community together. Over the years, the Foundation has provided $95 million through grants to various religious, educational and charitable organizations. For more information, visit catholicfoundation.com.
