Crews are working on updates to Casa Linda Park.
Funds were set aside through the 2017 bond to make improvements to the park’s basketball court and pavilion.
District 9 Park and Recreation Board member Maria Hasbany says the basketball court had already been upgraded by the time she was appointed.
When architects presented plans for a new pavilion, neighbors nearby weren’t too impressed. Instead, Hasbany suggested giving the pavilion a facelift and using the leftover money for something else.
One improvement residents were excited about was a walking trail around the park to connect the playground, pavilion and other features.
They are also painting pickleball lines on the tennis court, which is going to be resurfaced.
All work is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
