The Carter Albrecht “Jesus is Alive and Living in London” album release party is at 8 p.m. Thursday May 28 at the Granada Theater. Dave Little will host the event featuring performances by Sorta, The Slack, Salim Nourallah … special guest appearances by Trey Johnson and Danny Balis to name a couple — nice lineup for $12-$17 ticket prices. More importantly, proceeds from the CD go to the Carter Albrecht music Foundation, which Albrecht’s parent set up to help young local musicians following his death.
Carter’s father Ken Albrecht, whom I’ve interviewed a couple times since his son’s death has remained very passionate about the foundation and about getting Carter’s album finished. His friends and even those who didn’t know him very well have remained active and supportive in keeping his memory and music alive.
Here or here, you can read a little more history behind the album, which was reportedly 75 percent complete at the time of Albrechts’s death.
