If you have some free time at 9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, and want to be part of a movie, stop by Woodrow Wilson High School, 100 S. Glasgow. According to information provided by the promoter, the movie is "tentatively titled ‘Jesus’ Parable of the Prodigal Son’", and if you show up, you need to bring along a copy of this signed release allowing the movie company to use your image pretty much anywhere they want to (kids under 18 need to bring along a copy of the release signed by a parent or guardian).

I was told the movie has something to do with a kid who moves from a rural area (in this case, Woodrow) to  the big city (in this case, Garland), and learns something about himself through basketball. The event benefits Mike Modano’s and Mark Cuban’s Heroes Foundation, and attendees have a chance to win prizes, including a big-screen television, autographed Dallas Mavericks gear and Mav’s tickets.
