Richard Kastl will be the executive director over the Northeast Secondary Network in Dallas ISD after leading Bryan Adams High School as principal for five years.
Dallas ISD central administration was rearranged. Executive directors (ED) will no longer supervise feeder patterns from high school to elementary. They will be organized by region and will give guidance to middle and high schools in certain areas of town. This means he will help hire the now vacant Woodrow Wilson High School and Bryan Adams principal positions, and could provide some stability to an ED position that has changed frequently in the past few years.
Kastl’s area of supervision will include Bryan Adams High School, North Dallas High School, Skyline High School and Woodrow Wilson High School and the middle schools in their feeder pattern. In a Facebook post, Dallas ISD Trustee Dan Micciche wrote, “Under Mr. Kastl’s leadership, BA has thrived. He will be greatly missed on campus but he will remain actively involved in the continued growth and development of BA.”
Under Kastl’s leadership, Bryan Adams has gone from on the edge of reconstitution to earning six of seven distinctions from the Texas Education Agency and becoming a Leadership Academy and Early College High School.
“I cannot begin to tell you how honored I am to have had the opportunity to work with you and serve as the principal at Bryan Adams for the past five years,” he wrote in a letter to the community. He will supervise the future principal and will still be connected to the Bryan Adams community. “There is still much work to be done and I will still be in your corner working alongside you to help our students realize their potential and fulfill their dreams!”
