Oh hey! Just wanted to say thanks for ruining my Memorial Day Weekend.

I was supposed to enjoy a concert and a stellar fireworks show with my friends. Yes, “supposed to.” That is, until I got an email saying “due to the conditions caused by the ongoing inclement weather (which, I believe is long-hand for “Seriously, why is it still raining?!”) the SOLUNA International Music & Arts Festival concert Salute to the Armed Forces, scheduled for 8:30 p.m. this Sunday, May 24, at Klyde Warren Park, has been moved indoors to the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, 2301 Flora Street in the Dallas Arts District. The fireworks at Klyde Warren Park have been cancelled and will not be moved or rescheduled.”

Oh, oh! And this. This is my favorite:

The Dallas Symphony Parks Concerts Presented by Bank of America Memorial Day Concert and Fireworks at Flagpole Hill scheduled for 8 p.m. this Monday, May 25, has also been moved indoors to the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, 2301 Flora Street in the Dallas Arts District. The fireworks at Flagpole Hill have been cancelled and will not be moved or rescheduled.”

I just wanted to take this opportunity to give you a free backstage pass to my own little concert, in which I will serenade you with a solo I’ve been working on. It goes like this…

“Rain, rain, go away. No one likes you anyway. Little children want to play, but they can’t because you hate them, and I don’t have any dry shoes left.”

That’s pretty much as far as I’ve gotten. It’s a work in progress, but the overall message is that the entire Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex is way, waaaay over you.

So thanks for nothing, you party pooper.

Sincerely,

Brittany
