The organization provides access to diagnostic and treatment services for low-income, uninsured and underinsured people with breast cancer.

Fraternal Order of Eagles last held this event in 2019, and though it has typically occurred at the end of summer, it’s being held in the fall this year. Bra Art has raised more than $43,000 for The Bridge Breast Network since it started in 2015.

Every dollar donated to the organization provides $10 worth of medical care.

Artists design and create bras that are worn by “models” and are auctioned off live.

There’s also a silent auction where visitors can bid on bras that were turned in late or are recycled from previous years, as well as other gifts. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, and there will be face painting, raffles and an ofrenda (altar) to honor people who have died of breast cancer.

Breast cancer survivors are invited to share their stories in person or by emailing Karen Nealy (karencnealy@gmail.com) if they can’t make it to the event.

Bra Art is scheduled for 4-7 p.m. Nov. 5 at Fraternal Order of Eagles, 8500 Arturo Drive.

Volunteers, models and artists should text Heather Goodin (214-916-9334) or Carrie McDevitt (512-923-5055) before Oct. 25 for best placement.
