After 13 years in Lakewood Shopping Center, Beads of Splendor is boxing up its beads, clasps and wires and moving them to 9047 Garland (the shopping center with Hypnotic Donuts).
The sign is up at the new location and the major construction is finished. All that’s left is the finish-out and the moving, says owner Diana Thatcher. But there’s still plenty of both to be done.
“We’re boxing up now as we speak,” she said. “We’ve been here 13 years, so there’s lots of stuff to move.”
Thatcher hopes to open the new location in mid-October because her lease ends at the Lakewood Shopping Center location at the end of October, and she wants to have some overlap.
After that, she’ll host a grand opening on Nov. 15 in conjunction with her annual Southwest Turquoise Trunk Show.
Thatcher lives in Casa Linda, so the new location is just a few miles from her house.
“We’re excited to be in the center,” she says.
