Thursday night at 7 p.m., head to the Dallas Arboretum for The Wildflowers, a tribute to Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers for their Cool Thursday concert series. Tickets are $20 for members and $30 for nonmembers.
Texas Monthly’s The Edge of Texas weekend is at the Belo Mansion & Pavilion this weekend, and it kicks off with, “Among the Outlaws: Live Music + Documentary Film + Conversations,” a film and music event with clips from Eric Geadelmann’s documentary, “They Called Us Outlaws.” It will also include performances by Joe Ely, Jessi Colter, Jack Ingram, and Holly Williams. The next day will feature conversations with East Dallas neighbors and entrepreneurs Rachel Lindsay of Bachelorette fame, Knife chef and Top Chef contestant John Tesar and many others. Tickets to Saturday’s events are $85.
Saturday morning is For the Love of the Lake’s Second Saturday Spruce-Up. Meet at their office at 8 a.m. to grab some breakfast and supplies before heading to make our lake beautiful.
The Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs is seeking input about a new public art installation at the Bathhouse Cultural Center at White Rock Lake, and there will be a public meeting on Saturday at 2 p.m. Input will be used to develop the scope of the project.
KERA will be airing an episode of its show “CEO” which features East Dallas neighbor Lola Lott, CEO of charlieuniformtango. The episode will showcase how her team creates multi-media content for clients in Austin and Dallas. The episode airs at 7:30 p.m. Friday, September 7.
R Taco is back to being Rusty Taco, and to celebrate their name change they are serving $2 tacos on Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. with live music from Jayson Bales, giveaways and more. The proceeds from the event will go toward the North Texas Food Bank.
