Jersey Mike’s Subs will be joining IHOP as a new addition to the Gaston-Garland-Grand intersection, as the sandwich shop will be sliding into the space vacated by Subway next to Mathnasium at Lakeview Center.
Owner Joey Fluette says the new location should be ready by November. Fluette also owns the Jersey Mike’s at Lake Highlands Town Center.
Jersey Mike’s was founded in 1956 in Point Pleasant, New Jersey as Mike’s Subs. The Jersey Shore location and unique submarine style sandwich helped it establish it as a local favorite. It grew to over 1,500 locations nationwide, including six other Dallas locations.
Earlier this year, a Washington area Jersey Mike’s made headlines when the manager fired a pregnant employee via text message, saying “It’s not a good time for us to have someone who is leaving for maternity leave in several months anyways.” The manager resigned soon after.
The new Jersey Mike’s will be at 7324 Gaston Ave.
