The robotics students at two neighborhood Dallas ISD schools were recognized at a recent Dallas ISD Board of Trustees meeting.

Teams at Alex Sanger Preparatory School and Casa View Elementary, along with those from Winnetka Elementary, Margaret B. Henderson Elementary and the School for the Talented and Gifted in Pleasant Grave, received awards at the VEX Robotics World Championship on May 3.

Alex Sanger’s team, Robolution Z, received the innovation award at the competition. Casa View’s Eagle Bots placed in the teamwork category. The school’s Lady Bots team received the design award and placed in the teamwork category at the competition.

These two schools also participated in the IQ Robotics Create U.S. Open in April.

The robotics students also received a shout out from the office of District 9 City Council member Paula Blackmon on Facebook: “Keep up the good work D9!”

Robert T. Hill Middle School also has a successful robotics team, which we featured in our magazine earlier this year.
