None of them is going to play running back in the Big 12, but at Peak Preparatory, “signing day” was a bigger deal than the NFL draft. Of 26 seniors going to college in the fall, 23 are the first in their family to attend college. The East Dallas charter school, which includes grades K-12, recently held a celebration for its college-bound seniors. Younger students were there to watch their role models don T-shirts bearing the names of their intended schools.

The seniors recieved a total of $247,500 in scholarships, including one student who got $120,000 to attend the University of Michigan.
