An Iraq veteran on a 1,000 + mile mission will make a stop at the White Rock YMCA Monday, to meet kids and teens and help them write letters to soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. Gunner Swanson, manager of a Minnesota-based non-profit called War Kids Relief , will walk from Dallas to Northfield, MN as part of the “Soldiers March for Peace” fundraiser to raise awareness and support his non political organization, which helps kids traumatized by war.
Swanson’s walk starts July 4, will wind through our neighborhood July 6, and end about ten weeks later in Minnesota. Watch Swanson’s video after the jump, and meet him July 6 at the Y.
