Designer Christine Visneau, who designs adorable and practical little girls’ day dresses using vintage fabrics, opened a boutique on Junius next to the Garden Cafe. The Little Bean shop carries Visneau’s Baby Bean line along with several other labels that can be found nowhere else in Dallas.
Visneau, who is from New Jersey but married a Dallas man, has lived in East Dallas for six years. She once owned a women’s clothing boutique in Brooklyn, and she started her clothing line five years ago. But this is her first children’s clothing store. "This space came available, so we just decided to do it," she said. "We love this space." She’s creating a studio in the back of the store, where she can work on her line and take custom orders.
All of the items in her Baby Bean line are one-of-a-kind. But she also plans to use the studio space to make short runs of dresses, when she wants to, from new fabrics. Prices at the Bean range from $160 for a unique hand-dyed dress, to $16 for a custom T-shirt. Most dresses are between $30 and $80.
