Last week, I met the founder of All Tri, Randall White, who is on the board of the West Dallas Chamber of Commerce. All Tri is a company that trains people to complete marathons and triathalons, and helps them raise money for the charities of their choice. Maybe you’ve heard of companies like this, such as the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Team in Training. But this one started last year, and is based in Dallas. In its first year, All Tri helped athletes raise $70,000 for 17 charities.

The company is recruiting athletes for the Seattle and White Rock marathons. An informational happy hour is set for Thursday at 6 p.m. at Ozona Grill & Bar. Don’t let the word "athlete" scare you — all training has to start somewhere.
