Is this the next big zoning fight around here? The car wash near the intersection of Skillman, Live Oak and La Vista is for sale — $1.25 million for 17,000 square feet, says Mike Dolhancey of Abbey MacDonald Real Estate, who has the listing.
Why might there be a fight? The property is zoned community retail, which means the new owner can build pretty much what he or she wants (short of an office block). And for anyone who thinks the lot is too small to do much, Dolhancey says a fast food restaurant would fit on the site.
He says he has had some interest in the 60 days the property has been on the market, though nothing definite. I’ll follow up on this story after the first of the year.
