Dream Cafe, located in Hillside Village, announced in a press release last week its plans to relocate to the Skillman Live Oak Center in the fall.
The restaurant has become a neighborhood staple, serving daily breakfast, lunch and dinner, along with happy hour from 3-6 p.m. every evening. Best known for its outdoor patio and healthy foods, Dream Cafe has found its home in Lakewood.
The restaurant plans to move sometime this fall where they will continue to serve menu favorites.
“Whether guests stop in for weekend brunch, a casual lunch, dinner with family and friends, or drinks on the patio, they can expect the same welcoming atmosphere and diverse menu that has made Dream Cafe a destination for every occasion,” Dream Cafe said in the press release.
Dream Cafe has operated in Dallas since 1988, when siblings Mary and Grady O’Brien opened a location in Uptown, which is still open and serves breakfast and lunch, according to Dream Cafe’s website. In 2016, Christine Lott brought Dream Cafe to Lakewood where it currently serves the East Dallas community.
“Lakewood has been home to Dream Cafe for nearly a decade, and staying in the community was incredibly important to us,” Lott said in the press release. “We love our guests, our neighbors and the relationships we’ve built over the years. While this move wasn’t something we anticipated, we’re excited to continue serving the community from our new location and begin the next chapter of Dream Cafe right here in Lakewood.”
According to the press release, Dream Cafe plans to close briefly and temporarily during the transition. More details regarding opening dates and further celebrations will be announced later.
Dream Cafe will post updates on the move and reopening information on its website and on social media.
