Texas A&M University College of Dentistry (in our neighborhood on Gaston Avenue) is hosting a celebration in honor of its 120th anniversary.
The event Boots & Burs (a name reflective of Texas culture and the dental instrument called a “bur”) will take place 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3 at Las Colinas Country Club. The college’s Distinguished Alumnus and Outstanding Young Alumnus for the year will be honored at the celebration, according to a press release.
Two tickets cost $99 until Sept. 13, at which point the price will increase to $120. The deadline for buying tickets is Sept. 24. The proceeds from the event will go towards “expanding access to adult and pediatric dental care for underserved communities, supporting student mental health and wellness initiatives, and scholarships,” according to the press release.
Attendees are welcome to wear boots along with their cocktail attire.
