Deep Ellum’s Kettle Art Gallery may be ushering one in with its newest exhibit “Viva La Revolution.” A notice about the exhibit in a Deep Ellum newsletter noted that the show “explores the past and the present” but also calls out some issues that feel very 2025.

“As the world faces inequality, climate crisis, economic uncertainty, information overload and political disillusionment, a familiar tension rises,” reads the notice. “Whether through protest, quiet defiance or artistic expression, the call is clear: something must shift.”

But, wait — the call is not for “chaos” but instead, “clarity, courage and the evolving meaning of freedom,” which is what the artists will explore in the exhibit.

“Hate is clearly not the solution as love should always prevail, but in uncertain times, art becomes both reflection and rebellion,” reads the notice.

Viva La Revolution’s featured artists includes Kettle Art Gallery founder and Deep Ellum mural legend Frank Campagna as well as Danny Hurley, Richard Ross, Jesse Hernandez, Jack Daw, Mariell Guzman, Justin Clumpner, Hatziel Flores, Melissa Hennings, Cathey Miller, Jason Janik, Dora Zeneth Reynosa, Greg Metz, Jeff Miranda, Beverly Parson White, Mahsa Moein, Marc Dominus, Katrina Rasmussen, Viktor Ortiz and more.

The show kicks off with an invitational exhibition on Saturday, July 19 and runs through Aug. 24 at 2650-B Main St.
