July is knocking on our door, and if you’re still trying to think of activities you can do with your kids or grandkids, you may consider the children’s tea service at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden.
The Arboretum’s DeGolyer Tea Room only offers seated tea service for children ages 2-10 during the summer months. The next dates to attend are July 3, 5, 17, 19, 31 (Thursdays and Saturdays) at 2 p.m. There are also a few dates in August.
Tea is not the only item on the menu. In fact, seated tea at the Arboretum consists of three courses — soup, sandwiches and sweets. For children’s tea menu, the soup is alphabet chicken. The sandwiches available are mini BLTs, croissant chicken salad with Thompson Grapes, peanut butter and banana-acacia honey, roasted turkey with Granny Smith, and mini grilled cheese. Desserts include marshmallow pops, very berry cupcakes, strawberry shortcake kabob, chocolate chip parfait and lemon bundtini.
Scones are served with strawberry jam and vanilla cream, and of course, there’s the tea, which includes “Yummy Tummy Tea” and sweet berries herbal tea as well as strawberry lemonade.
The children’s tea service costs $44 for kids ages 2-10 and $64 for adults. Pricing includes admission to the Arboretum, parking and gratuity. You can reserve your seat (24 hours in advance) here.
