Igo states that DPD will continue to “serve all” residents without regard to “race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, national origin or other protected categories.”

Igo’s message continues by stating that, at this present time, there are no changes to how both DPD and the City will be providing services to residents, clarifying that the Federal Government is “permanently” responsible for the enforcement of immigration laws.

“This also means that if you are victim to a crime, you have the right to report it regardless of immigration status,” Igo said.

The same sentiments are echoed in Spanish by City of Dallas Public Information Officer Alice Rios and Officer Luis Mata in a separate video message.
