The semifinals and finals will be Feb. 4 at the George Allen Courts Building. After the finals, three Dallas ISD teams will move on to the state tournament, which will be held in March.

Last year, the team finished second in Dallas ISD, losing to Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. Booker T.’s team later placed fifth at the national competition.

Woodrow and Bishop Lynch High School qualified for the state competition last year; Woodrow finished ninth, and Booker T. won. Of the 180 teams that begin the competition, 24 qualify for state.
