Jia Asian Bistro applied for a certificate of occupancy for the former Digg’s Tacos spot at the shopping center near the Gaston-Garland-Grand intersection. The space shares a building with Starbucks.

There is another Jia Asian Bistro in Preston Center, near W. Northwest Highway and Preston Road.

The restaurant sells Chinese staples including kung pao chicken, potstickers and wonton soup. There’s a selection of rice and noodle dishes and vegetarian options. The Preston Center location also has a sushi bar offering about 40 classic and signature rolls.

Jia Asian Bistro will join several other dining spaces in the shopping center, including White Rock Alehouse & Brewery, Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers and IHOP.

There’s also a Whataburger planned for the shopping center near the 3G intersection, though it could be some time before neighbors can stop by for honey butter chicken biscuits.

Jia Asian Bistro will be located at 7325 Gaston Ave.
