Authorities are investigating after a Lyft driver, who had passengers in the car, was shot early Saturday in Old East Dallas.

The shooting happened around 2 a.m. near Bennett and Capitol avenues. Witnesses said a white Lexus drove up to the vehicle, and someone fired multiple shots, shattering the passenger-side window, according to Fox 4.

The shooter hit the Lyft driver in his lower body, CBS DFW reported. He was taken to Baylor Hospital in unknown condition.

The two passengers, who had just been picked up from a nearby club, were not hurt.

No arrests had been made at the time of the report. An investigation is ongoing.
